Since the migration crisis of 2015, Germany has faced a series of destabilizing dilemmas.  From economic stagnation, a breakdown in social and political cohesion, and shocks from Covid,  Germany’s traditionally stable landscape is increasingly unpredictable.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the political fallout from mass migration. While Germany’s mainstream parties have faced dwindling support, more radical parties like AfD have surged to record-breaking 20% in the polls. This increasing polarization on both the right and left are threatening to divide the country. Beginning with the cornerstone crisis of migration, our panelists, will discuss current issues in German politics and society and will try to find answers to how Germany is responding to these challenges in the face of war, migration, inflation, and political struggles.
