The overall objective of the project is to enhance the successful implementation of the Hungarian National Energy and Climate Plan with special emphasis on the decarbonisation and sustainable, just transition of the Mátra Power Plant and its region.
The Mobile Demonstration and Information Centre "MOBIDIK vehicle" is an electric demonstration vehicle equipped with a solar panel system that generates the electricity needed to use the equipment on the spot.
At the demonstration vehicle, participants will be offered a fresh coffee - where the electricity for the coffee machine is also generated locally - to demonstrate the energy consumption of household appliances. Visitors can test their sustainability literacy with the Green Wheel of Fortune. They can measure their ecological footprint and carbon footprint to see how much of a burden their current lifestyle is putting on the Earth. They can measure and influence the current air quality of the event with our smart measuring instruments. By playing our VR game, visitors can learn how their choices affect the environment.
Save the earth! With the Kahoot game, children can compete in small groups to see who will be the green hero of the program! In addition, there will be a colouring corner and a selective waste collection game for the youngest children to learn about the sustainability issues of our planet.
In 2020, the WasteRadar application was developed, enabling residents to report illegal waste. The purpose of HulladékRadar is to eliminate areas polluted by illegal waste and to prevent illegal waste dumping.
The application can be used to report data on illegally disposed waste in Hungary. With the help of this, any private individual - after a short registration - can easily report any illegal waste dumping they find, so that the competent authority can remove the illegal waste more quickly and easily.
The WasteRadar app will also be introduced in the Ministry of Energy's programme through a short film and a practical demonstration of the app, so the visitors can learn how to use the WasteRadar on their mobile phones. Afterwards, visitors will be invited to play a short test with a few questions and receive a small gift in return.
